• Dive into the world of supply chain for 5 days – CSCMP EDGE 2019

  • Niklas Mulderij joined CSCMP as a member and the Benelux RT in 2018. He has a background in maritime transport working four years for a shipping line world wide. Since 2017, Niklas is following his bachelor studies in International Logistics Engineering as well as International Logistics Management at Breda University of Applied Sciences (formerly NHTV). Within his studies he focuses on Supply Chain and operations management. Niklas was selected to represent the Benelux Roundtable in the Future Leader Program. In this blog he shares his experiences.

  • In September this year, I had the pleasure to attend the 57th CSCMP EDGE Conference in Anaheim, California as part of the Future Leader program.

Throughout the program I spent 5 days with more than 70 other Future Leader student volunteers to put on the CSCMP EDGE 2019 conference. There, we were able to interact and gain counsel from countless supply chain professionals while still being able to attend the conference keynotes and breakout sessions along the way. Great companies like IBM, DHL, Uber Freight and many more were sharing their thoughts and inspiring visions.

Through this experience, I was able to hear about trends in the supply chain field, listen to dynamic speakers, network and connect with fellow supply chain students and industry professionals from across the country and globe.

EDGE 2019 showed me the incredible opportunities that are available as a member of CSCMP, and I look forward to my future with CSCMP as it provides me with tools to grow and enhance my supply chain career.

Among much more, I have learned about the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence in supply chain and how it helps to optimize operational processes. Further, I learned about Blockchain and IoT solutions already performing in the industry and their impact. I also found it interesting to see how temporary supply chains work for humanitarian aid after major disasters and the rapid restoration of the commercial supply chains after the impact.

I would like to thank my roundtable for sponsoring me and making this opportunity possible for me to join the CSCMP’s Future Leader program. It was a truly great experience to be able to represent our Benelux roundtable along with my university and our excellent supply chain program.
